Baby Adelyn

So, I forgot my camera cord, so no pictures right now...but soon.

Here's the birth scoop. Contractions started at 7pm on Monday, September 21st, I was actually able to sleep through some of them, but they were still coming regularly at 15 minutes so we called my mom to come down. I puttered around the house while Travis took the kids to indoor park, even though the contractions were weak still. Travis and I then got a whole day date! The contractions didn't start getting harder and closer until about 8pm on Tuesday (26 hours from the start). So we watched the Proposal at Northern Lights and I stood up every 5 minutes and had a contraction. We finished the movie and headed to Silverton to walk around. We went to the Hospital around midnight to see where the progress was etc...And I was at 2cm. Then they called the doctor in (he was sleeping somewhere) because the baby's heart reat was dropping too low with every contraction. They did a quick ultrasound and found that there was very little amnionic fluid. So, we decided to labor for a couple more hours, see if I'd made progress, and then either keep going or do an amnionic transfer (or something like that, they break the water and put in new 'water'). This would either fix it or not. : ) I hadn't moved enough by 6am, so they replaced the water and her heart rate dropped too much and they put an internal moniter on and watched. Her heart rate came back up and basically the doctor said, "The baby does that again and we'll take it." And the rest is pretty boring...from 6-8 I moved to 6cm, from 8-12 I was stuck at 8cm and the last two hours of that was pretty much a continuous contraction. At about noon I told Travis that I wasn't going to make it, so I would do an epidural to make it. Thankfully the doctor decided to help out and she let me push and she pushed the last little bit of cervix off and then I got to push my little baby out--10 minutes, the only part I had any control over! 41 1/2 hours total

Welcome Adelyn Cadence Frank, 12:34pm, 20 1/4 inches, 8lbs. 6 oz.

Oh yes, I pulled a muscle on the right side--I will forever have compassion for those who have a pulled muscle!

I promise pictures later, whew, I made it, no more babies!!
