Like any other day in which the kids are up before I’ve had a chance to check the mail, whoever is up goes with me. Well, walking through the yard Jeremiah stops, says ouchie, and drops to the ground taking off his sandal. Thinking he has kicked a thorny branch or something I look and pull out the offending thistle like ‘ouchie.’ However, as you’ve probably guessed, it was no thorn. He had managed to kick a bumblebee right in the behind, at just the right spot to miss his sandal and hit his foot! The poor kid is now in tears saying over and over, "It hurts, it really really hurts," between huge tears and arching his back in pain! Lilly was a great little nurse and brought her brother the ice cube and was hovering to help and asking, "Are you okay?" We got it under control quickly with baking soda and water mix. Then we had to call Grandma to tell her that we had just gotten our first bee sting!
Next thing we’re outside riding bikes, because the bee sting boy thought that riding bikes would make his sting feel better—good logic. : ) Well, he speeds straight into the sidewalk, tips his bike and gets a nice little scrape/gash on his knee! We wheel him in, wipe him off and put another horribly unsticky band-aid onto his body. Whew, another ½ hour has passed!
Needless to say we went to Fred Meyer got a free cookie and invested in some over priced Scooby-doo band-aid brand band-aids and plain ones (for those non-bleeding ones that just have to have a band-aid).
On a less dramatic note we were able to go up to Clackamas today and visit Build-a-Bear as a special treat (I had a $10 rewards certificate). We splurged and let them each get a $5 item. That was more difficult than I thought it would be! If you splurge there, make sure you budget $6 a kid! However, they each found an item of great value for their respective animals. Jeremiah chose a cupcake with elastic strings to put onto Charlie Monkey’s arms—we’ll see how long the strings stay attached! Lilly, surprise, chose a pink backpack with rhinestones and Isaiah got a pair of sandals (the shoes were too expensive, but he loves any type of shoe). Just a little bit of fun to help celebrate that Daddy got a day off…I’ll try to get a picture of each of them with their animals and post it! : )
We are home, post is quite late!

Of course Lilly would pick the pick backpack! That is so cute. I can't wait to see you all this weekend!
